| Short description: | The aim of the course is to acquaint students with pratical apects of animals examination (clinical examination, specialist examination, sampling). During the course students learn how to interpret the data and diagnose. They practice different aspects of therapy (conservative and surgical). They practice manually procedures on animals in the field. Students learn to formulate opinions to the needs of state administration, local government and professional. |
| Full description: | Practical diagnosis and treatment of diseases of farm animals. Sampling test (blood, feces, urine, content of the rumen, fluid from the body cavities, biopsies), the technique of administering drugs. Making anesthesia and assist in surgery. Interpretation of the documentation related to infectious diseases. Gynecological examination (clinical and imaging) sexual organ. Implementation support the delivery of female farm animals. |

| Learning outcomes: | Knowledge: - performs clinical examination of the patients. - properly interpret clinical data and additional laboratory results - implement therapeutic principles (including surgical procedures) - knows the rules for issuing decisions and provides opinions for the state administration bodies, local government and professional Skills: - performs a full clinical examination of the animal - uses diagnostic equipment, including x-ray, ultrasound and other - collect samples, is familiar with the procedures of transportation and is able to perform basic laboratory tests - is able to apply appropriate treatment Social competences: - puts the patient's well-being in the first place - is aware of his own limitations - is able to operate under the uncertainty and stress - is able to organize work team |
